The essentials
Standards and essential tips for creating user-friendly and effective advertising.
Font size must be at least 14 pt or 19 px for a 72 ppi image. Smaller texts become illegible on some tablet models.
IMPORTANT: Double the font size for Retina format. This ensures optimum readability on all tablet models.
Icons should be at least 40 px in size to facilitate interaction and offer the reader optimal visibility and user experience.
IMPORTANT: Don't forget to double the size of your icons for Retina format.
A maximum of 100 words is allowed in an HTML ad.
If the text you need to include is close to the maximum allowed, it should ideally appear entirely on the screen, without using the “scrolling marquee” interaction. If, on the other hand you need to prioritize the message, the "touch" interaction, which allows the reader to access the text via a pop-up window is recommended.
If your advertising message needs to be longer than 100 words we recommend the XTRA product which allows you to present a greater amount of information in the form of native content.
For improved display quality, we suggest providing your ad images in Retina format, which means at 200% of the final HTML ad format. (The final ad file will retain the standard dimensions with only the image dimensions doubled.)
Example for full screen:
Final HTML file: 980 x 670 px
Assets folder images: 1960 x 1340 px
Pay particular attention to the following points:
Minimum text size in Retina format: 38 pixels
Minimum icon size in Retina format: 80 pixels
To ensure that users retain complete control of their reading experience, automatic activation (autoplay) of animations and audio clips is forbidden.
IMPORTANT: It is now possible to use the autoplay option in a full-screen video format.
In full-screen format, an area made up of a 135 px at the bottom and another 75 px on the right, must be free of interactivity.
This surface which facilitates screen switching must be static and therefore free of interactivity. Footer elements such as the logo, +WEB and/or call to action must remain fixed as well.
The 40 px area in the top right-hand corner of ad formats must be free of any interactivity.
The +WEB icon is required to redirect users to a website. The activation zone must be targeted and have a size of 40 px by 40 px (80 px by 80 px for Retina format) to avoid any involuntary triggering.
View and download our iconography →The URL link must lead to a site whose content is in French. If this is not the case, the message site en anglais must be displayed next to the +WEB icon.
The URL link only works if the reader's tablet is connected to the internet. If the reader is not connected to the internet, an error message will appear.
Adding a call to action next to the +WEB icon is highly recommended.
Special characters in URLs must be encoded using a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI).
